my journey
Educational background and certifications
Hi, I’m Morgan Stone. I graduated Cum Laude from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned my master’s degree in applied psychology with a specialization in counseling and guidance from New York University. My undergraduate degree weighed heavily into neurology and my graduate degree centered on a strength-based positive psychology lens where my philosophy continues to focus on finding and building upon someone’s strengths while acknowledging and managing relative challenges.
As a certified integrated trauma coach through the American Psychological Association certified Aura Institute, I incorporate somatic informed practices to release tension and stress held in the body. Mindfulness is brought in to develop resilience, peace-of-mind, clarity, and mindset shifts to manage and navigate current and future challenges.
My certification in school counseling has enabled me to work in elementary through high school settings, where I also have developed social emotional learning curriculum and taught children everything from goal setting to emotional regulation, conflict resolution, mindfulness, and self-care relating to managing stress and anxiety. I have also worked as an at-risk counselor and outreach adolescent advocate.
You can find me teaching meditation on Skillshare, with new classes in the works, as well as hosting a mindfulness and embroidery date night for long-distance couples through the Lovewick app.
Fun facts! I am a mom of three living in a 1920’s farmhouse on the CT coast, I have published poetry and short stories through print and online literary journals, I ran my own business while working as an artist and maker for eight years, and still dive into painting, drawing, and fiber art every chance I get. Traveling is a huge passion of mine, I practice yoga (Bikram and Vinyasa), and my favorite places to be are outside in the sun or inside on a rainy day with a cup of tea and a book in my lap.
